Refurbished: MiNE Media – Q8 Bonding Encoder

Two functions make the Mine Media Q8 an all-rounder in every live stream setup: bonding and encoding. Whether live streaming from the soccer stadium, an alpine hut in the mountains or a general meeting – simply switch on the Q8 Bonding Encoder and start the live stream.

FIRST-CLASS PICTURE AND SOUND QUALITY

The two integrated HDMI and SDI ports allow you to switch between the signals. This is also possible during a live stream if, for example, a camera should fail. The Q8 supports an input of up to 2x 1080p 60. The Bonding Encoder achieves clear sound by supporting stereo channels (192 kHz 24 bit). The automatic gain control algorithm ensures consistent sound quality.

TWO POWERFUL PROTOCOLS FOR LIVE TRANSMISSION

The Bonding Encoder Q8 uses two powerful protocols: RTMP and SRT. While RTMP is mainly used for live streaming on popular platforms such as YouTube, Facebook or Vimeo, SRT scores with its low latency. The open source protocol uses the Internet to transmit the live stream. This is how SRT achieves a secure, stable and encrypted live stream with the highest image quality. Thanks to its low latency, the bonding encoder in combination with a decoder is suitable for live switching, for example to a TV studio or from a soccer pitch. In detail the protocols supported by the Q8: 264 (RTMP/RTMPS), H.265 (RTSP), support 1080p 25/ 30 / 50 / 60 fps; 720p 25 / 30 / 50 / 60 fps. Internet bonding ensures a stable, fail-safe Internet connection on the Q8. Three LTE modems, a USB port, Wi-Fi and Ethernet – up to six connections are bundled into one.

SIMPLE CONTROL VIA THE APP

The Q8 encoder is characterized above all by its intuitive operation. There are only a few buttons on the device itself: power, recording, Wifi and SDI/HDMI switcher. The Q8 is controlled via the practical M Live app or the web app. In the app, users enter all relevant information for the live stream: from recording settings to RTMP target server to network and audio settings. The device name can also be changed remotely in the app, for example. MAXIMUM MOBILITY THANKS TO POWERFUL BATTERY

The Q8 is optimized for mobile use. It does not need an external power supply because a powerful battery is integrated. This has a performance capacity of up to six hours. In addition, three antennas are installed, which ensure good reception.
