Whether outdoors at the zoo or livestreaming from church, the possible uses of Mine Media products are incredibly diverse. In cooperation with the Munich-based livestream agency Stream1, we realized around 150 livestreams as a livestream store last year. In this blog post, we look at various examples of video broadcasts. In most cases, two Mine Media products were used: the Internet Bonding Modem M4 Mini and the Live Video Bonding Encoder Q8.
Out and about with the Live Video Bonding Encoder Q8
The nightmare for every livestreamer: streaming live on YouTube outdoors and without a stable internet connection via LAN or WLAN. So many livestreamers cannot guarantee a stable and, above all, fail-safe stream with their equipment. Especially not if a walk or tour is to be streamed. With the Live Video Bonding Encoder Q8 from Mine Media, such live streams can also be realized without any problems. This is because the encoder relies on Internet bonding and therefore on the bundling of several Internet connections. One example of this was a live stream from Munich’s Hellabrunn Zoo. Together with zoo director Rasem Baban and presenter Natalie from Munich radio station Gong 96,3, we organized a livestream from Hellabrunn Zoo. The zoo had been closed for several months due to coronavirus. While 1,300 children and their parents watched giraffes, tigers and of course the cuddly star guest, baby elephant Otto, up close via the stream, we took care of the smooth transmission.
Important political exchange – made possible by Mine Media
Political exchange between citizens, municipal representatives and politicians is part of democratic culture and therefore very important. The pandemic has made such exchanges more difficult and may even have canceled them. The solution of the hour: livestream. This enables dialog between the mayor, municipal council and citizens – without any risk of infection. For the municipality of Gmund on picturesque Lake Tegernsee, citizens gathered not in the town hall but in front of their laptops. Using modern technology, such as PTZ cameras from JVC, and above all the Mine Media Internet Bonding Router M4 Mini, we streamed in top picture quality. The stream ran uninterrupted for the entire town hall meeting.
Time to shine: award ceremonies in the livestream
Award ceremonies are synonymous with red carpets, eye-catching gowns and canapés in a glass – difficult to organize during Corona. But even after the end of contact restrictions, large award ceremonies are not always feasible, especially if you want to act sustainably. A livestream can be an equally festive and environmentally friendly alternative. If guests are unable to attend the party, Mine Media can help you bring the awards ceremony into the audience’s living room. Together with the livestream agency Stream1, we have already broadcast several award ceremonies as livestreams. For example, the “Farmer of the Year” award ceremony from agrarheute, the German Publishing Prize from the Federal Government from the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Deutschen Waldpreis ceremony from our livestream studio. Two Mine Media products were used for all three broadcasts: the Internet Bonding Router M4 Mini and the Live Video Bonding Encoder Q8.
Digital symposium in livestream
Just a few years ago, digital conferences or virtual meetings were a rarity. However, they are an important means in every industry of providing participants from near and far with the latest research findings and information. The number of participants is now often higher digitally than at a traditional face-to-face conference, as participants do not have to travel to a fixed location. One problem with such digital conferences is the poor or non-existent internet connection on site. Companies are often unable to provide the livestream provider with an internet connection on site due to data protection and IT security issues. Thanks to the Mine Media M4 Mini, however, you have your own internet with you. This is because the Internet bonding router bundles up to five Internet connections in total. This means you can stream a digital symposium or conference in a fail-safe and stable manner without any problems. One example from our partner Stream1 is the digital conference for the German Youth Institute.
Livestream from the church: baptism, confirmation or wedding
Livestreaming from church? Without a stable internet connection via LAN and with poor mobile reception? Many livestream agencies would turn down such a request. But with Mine Media and Internet bonding, this is no longer a problem. And these are not just empty promises, Stream1 and Prankl Consulting have both broadcast a livestream from the church with the help of Mine Media. Stream1 streamed a confirmation from the Hallbergmoos-Goldach parish with around 50 confirmands. The broadcast of a church wedding in the middle of Upper Bavaria was also romantic. The Mine Media M4 Mini provided a stable Internet connection for both events. Internet bonding bundles up to five connections into one. The bonding router was also responsible for the network in which the PTZ cameras were controlled. Our partners used the Livestream Encoder Q8 for security purposes. This also sent out a live stream as a backup solution.
The Mine Media products are therefore versatile and should be used by every livestream provider and service provider. Our partners Stream1 and Prankl Consulting are highly satisfied with the performance after more than 150 uses. Above all, the Internet bonding and the associated independence from the local Internet connection is a major plus point. Do you have questions about Mine Media?
